Illinois State Rifle Association

The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) has been the voice of Illinois firearm owners since 1903. We are a statewide membership organization dedicated to education, safety training, and the protection of Second Amendment rights for everyone who lives, works, hunts, and shoots in Illinois.

What we do

• Legislative advocacy. Three full-time lobbyists represent ISRA members at the Illinois state capitol. We track every bill that touches firearm ownership and we publish the voting records of every state legislator so members can hold them accountable.
• The ISRA Range. Our 226-acre range in Bonfield, IL is rated five stars by NSSF and hosts state and national shooting competitions, member league nights, training classes, and open shooting for ISRA range members.
• Education and training. Illinois Concealed Carry, NRA-certified courses, precision shooting clinics, and youth programs at the range and at affiliated clubs across the state.
• Litigation. The ISRA Legal Assistance Committee (ISRA-LAC) underwrites constitutional challenges to anti-gun legislation in Illinois courts.
• The Illinois Shooter. Quarterly newspaper covering legislation, member news, match results, and range activity. Mailed to every active member.

Membership

ISRA membership starts at $35 per year and includes the Illinois Shooter, member voting rights, candidate voting records, and participation in ISRA-supported competitive events. We offer multi-year, lifetime, family, and discounted American Hero memberships for active and retired law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, military, and veterans. Range membership is a separate program available to ISRA members.
